「コモンズ」とは「共有資源」を意味します。先進国であろうが途上国であろうが、地球は一つしかありません。「コモンズ（共有資源）である地球を守ろう」という意識が浸透すれば、万博は「成功」へと導かれるはずです。パビリオン名にある「コモンズ」には、そうした理念が込められています。

Welcome to the Commons Pavilions!
We use the word “commons” to emphasize the meaning of “shared resources.”Whether a country is developing or advanced, we all share one planet. If the global community widely embraces the idea of protecting the Earth as a commons, the Expo is sure to be a success. The word “Commons” in the pavilion name reflects this philosophy.
